Life got in the way of Quilting.... Oh No

It has been a while since I posted anything to my blog. OK, my last post was on March 31st and its July 31st today.  You know when life gets in the way when you are not be able to do your hobby you know that there is a problem.. lol… not really I was able to quilt a little at a time, but not as much as I would have like to. April and May just really pasted me by before I even knew it only did 30 blocks. Then in June I had an injury, I fell up the stairs going into work.  Yes I fell up the stairs and injured my hand, wrist and arm. Quilting one handed wasn’t an option in June, so not much quilting at all that month. At the end of June my daughter come home from South Korea with my granddaughter. We celebrated Riley's birthday in July even though her birthday was in June. Her daddy made it home from South Korea to celebrate her 1st birthday.  They were in Georgia for her birthday, so I made the trip from Missouri down there.  This was a great trip. I got to sit down and teach my daughter to quilt. She loves it now that she knows how to use the machine.
Tomorrow my second granddaughter will be born. Can't wait she is being induced at 5:00 am.  They made it to Ft. Bragg, NC where they will be stations.  So much closer than South Korea.

So I know that March I stepped it up and made 92 blocks, With everything that has been going on I did do a little quilting. But for the last 3 months I only actually did 43 blocks so my total for the year is 152 blocks which is way under the goal so far.  But I still have time to meet my yearly goal.

In April I made 15 blocks for a friend to piece for her grand baby girl.  They love batman, so with my scan n cut. I cut out the batman and put it on the blocks for her. Then designed the quilt in EQ7 for her for a layout to follow.  She loved it.

Remember I was working on the blocks for my relay for life quilt and I did 8 blocks in March.  I did finish that quilt and we raised over $800 for relay for life.  There was actually 23 blocks in this small quilt, I didn't use all of the 8 blocks that was crazy quilted, instead I did some embroidery on some of them, which you can't really see.   A great guy at work won the quilt...  so on this one I did a total of 15 blocks.

I also worked on my Skill Builder BOM 2015 Technicolor Galaxy quilt.
There was 10 complete blocks in each block there was 3 different sections that I had to paper piece and then put then into 1 block.  So I am only counting the completed blocks so 10 blocks for these.

I started the Row by Row I have 10 rows but only did 3 rows. Which I am counting each row 1 block.

Of course I quilted a quilt book and a panel for my new granddaughter. To be here very soon we are hoping tonight or in the morning.

I know that for 3 months 43 blocks isn't much. But, I will catch up next month.

Happy Sewing!!!

Good Bye 2014 --- Hello 2015

2014 was a great year!

 I got a new car.
In April, my husband and I went to Paducah to the Quilt Show and I finally got my dream machine, the Baby Lock Elisimo II with a Kola Cabinet.

I became a grandma. (Nana) They live in South Korea, they came to the states to visit.

We also had a five generation picture taken when Auttumn and Riley was here.

I got a big promotion at work!!

I also did a lot of quilting which I have posted on 350-blocks-project-2014 page of my my blog.

I have promise to show the two quilts that I completed for Christmas presents.  Here they are, the OU one is a log cabin pattern that I designed in EQ7.  Both quilts was designed in EQ7.

There was so much that happened in 2014 that I can't put into one post.  Like I said before 2014 was a great year.  Hoping 2015 will even be better.  I have a lot of plans that I am working on for my quilting too, so stay turn for more details regarding those plans.

For now I am going to get my sewing room organized today so I can start on those plans.

Happy Quilting!!!

August Update

Happy Labor Day!!!!

August went by way to fast, I think this entire year has gone by way to fast.
My mom and I went on a weekend trip to "Missouri Star Quilt Company".  We had a great time.

Of course I spent way to much money, but we had fun.  The month of August is my birthday and my mom's.  Her's is on the 19th and mine on the 5th.  So we try to do something together in August every year.  She has never been to Hamilton before or have I so we thought this would be a great weekend trip.

One thing that I got was the "Mini Wonky Web Template" and triangle paper. Always wanted to try this block.  Watched Jenny's YouTube video on this. I just love how she teaches.

Here is the first block from the "Mini Wonky Web"  There are 4 blocks for 1 block.  I did 2 completed blocks which are 12 mini blocks put together.

I missed up on this one. So I have to make another one.  lol

While we was in Hamilton, we drove over to Cameron to pick up my "Row by Row Experience".  For this row there was 16 half square triangles.

Working on quilting this now. So I can take it to the quilt shop before the end of September.

I also have been working on Skill Builder BOM 2014 with Pile O Fabic.

I am working on Christmas quilts now also, I can't really show to many pictures of them right now, but trust me they are going to be really cool when they are done.
One is a log cabin design that I did in EQ7.  There are 49 12" blocks in this quilt and with the boarders the quilt will be 102x102.  So far I have only done 20 blocks for this quilt.  So I need to get a moving so I can get it done before Christmas, cause I have 3 other quilts that I am also working on and a weekender tote.  This year is a old fashion Christmas for use, everyone is making items.

I have also been knitting some fingerless gloves.  I have one done working on the second one.

So for the month of August I actually did 55 blocks. I couldn't believe it until I counted them all. So I bet my goal for this month.  The goal was 30.  whoo I am still on track.  I have completed 303 blocks for the year...

Back Again

I can't believe that it has been since August that I posted anything to my blog.  Boy time fly's when your having fun. I have been super busy lately, I am working full time again (Love It) I am the Administration Assistant to the President of the company that I'm working for. Didn't really know if I wanted to get back into being assistant, but I really enjoy this position.

I'm going to be a grandma, yes my daughter and son-in-law is having a baby next July. I'm so excited about that. The only thing is that the baby will be born in Korea. They will be stationed over there for 3 years. So I will be saving all my extra money to go over there next July so see my first grand baby.

Know on to my quilting that I have been doing, not much, but I have been doing some.

My modern quilt guild has been doing Bee's each month. So I have been doing those blocks. I made another weekender, but can't show until after Christmas. (it's a gift).

I did 4 blocks for Luci - Modern Maples throw quilt I don't have pictures of those.

I made a couple of table runners. Here's one of them.

I will get back into posting to my blog. I promise!

I have an exciting year coming up. I will be creating a BOM for my guild. Which I will be posting on here each month. I created the BOM on my EQ7, and it's going to be paper piecing.

So if you would like to join this 2014 BOM, I will be posting the fabric information at the end of December.

EQ7 Summer Drawing: Block 4 - EasyDraw + PatchDraw blocks

This is the last block for the  EQ7 Summer Drawing Series

I have really enjoyed this series.  I am challenging myself that for the month of August I am going to actually sew all these blocks together and make a wall hanging.  So hopefully by the end of August you will see the finished project.  (If I write it down, I most likely will complete it).

Here is a picture in fabric and also in solid colors.

I will be posting my progress through out the month on my blocks from this series and then the finished project.

These series has been so much fun to learn some different things in EQ7 that I didn't know about. Know since I need to make sure that I have something to quilt each day this month, this will be great to sew out these applique.
