Tutorial for making Hexagons from circles

On March 7th at my Guild meeting I will be doing the Tips and Techniques.
We have been talking about Hexagons so I thought that I would do some different views of creating them.

The first one will be creating a Hexagon from a Circle...

First you will need a 5" Square .... Fold in half

Don't throw away the extra... I will show what I did with that later.

Here's what you can do with those extra pieces...

Add another 5" square under the extra.

Create a small quilt with it...
Here's the front

Here's that back..

Wasn't that fun....it was easy...

It's Been awhile

It's been a month since I posted anything to my blog...Life happens... I still have been quilting, just not much time to post anything. One reason is that my computer crashed and had to get a new one.  Which I love this one.  Starting next week I will be working about 50 hours... which I am ready to go back to work, but that means not much time for quilting... but you know me I will find some way to get into my quilting room....

Here are some of what I worked on this month...
I was playing around with 1 1/2 inch blocks... First picture is 100 blocks (left over) to go into bigger blocks

First one that I did...                                                                   Second little block

Here are those two and one that I did with 2 inch blocks.

For our Modern Quilt Guild the challenge for February was to create something with a rainbow theme and from Pinterest  (my pinterest)
I went with the Easy Zig Zags, that I found on Pinterest. You need to check it out it was so cool and easy to do... I also did some crazy patching. Still working on the quilting part.

Front - I did some stitch in the ditch before marking.

Here are some pictures of the marking that I did for some of the quilting.

I was also working on Hexagons... I completed 16

Here is my storage bin of 105 that I basted

I also did the blocks for the Row Along that I am doing with Bee In My Bonnet.
But only got one picture of one of the blocks... Hoping that tonight or tomorrow that I will be able to get the row put together and show the entire row.

I'm gonna be doing a Tips and Technique on Thursday at my Guild meeting so I will do another post on that to show how to create a Hexagon out of a circle...
